About Kin
Healthcare is still a black box for most Americans. Kin turns any medical visit into momentum and becomes the default patient AI layer that works in any exam room today: patient-controlled, privacy-forward, and designed to make care feel less confusing and more doable in the moments that count.
We are a physician-led team of repeat entrepreneurs with multiple successful exits, supported by world-class capital and strategic partners (including the former co-CEOs of GoodRx). We're hiring a Product Designer to help us build a product that patients trust in the moments that matter and define the next generational consumer healthcare business.
Why this role matters
You'll design the moments where patients and caregivers actually experience Kin: recording a visit, making sense of what the doctor said, and following through on what comes next. These are often stressful, confusing, high-stakes moments, and the quality of the design is the difference between a patient feeling in control and feeling lost.
This is a hands-on product design role. You'll own features and flows end-to-end, from first sketch to shipped pixels, and you'll move fast without sacrificing craft. You won't do this in a vacuum: you'll partner closely with engineering and product, and report directly to our co-founder and CPO, Amit Parikh.
What you will be building at Kin
- Own features and flows end-to-end. Take problems from rough insight to polished, buildable design, and stay with them through ship and iteration.
- Translate complex healthcare workflows into intuitive, high-fidelity designs. And do it fast. We move quickly and need someone who can go from a problem to a polished, technically sound prototype in days, not weeks.
- Design for the full patient and caregiver experience, from visit recording to follow-through. You'll bring a calm, high-taste aesthetic to moments that are often stressful and high-stakes.
- Write and shape product copy. Our product speaks to patients in plain language; you'll craft the words as much as the pixels.
- Partner closely with engineering. You'll work shoulder to shoulder with developers, understand the medium you're designing for, and make sure the shipped product matches your intent.
- Push our design system forward. You'll build with, extend, and evolve our Figma component libraries so the product stays coherent, implementable, and scalable as we grow.
- Run lightweight research and usability tests. Talk to patients, watch them use the product, and turn what you learn into shipped improvements.
- Experiment and iterate. Propose ideas, ship variants, and use data and user feedback to learn what actually changes behavior.
- Help shape our design culture. As an early team member, you'll play a direct role in establishing how we work together. You'll be a core voice in design critiques, help refine our day-to-day workflows, and champion a high-craft environment as the team scales.
What we're looking for
We're building for people navigating the scariest moments of their lives. That shapes everything about who we hire, how we build, and what we ship.
- Rapid execution with elite taste. Turn ambiguous problems into buildable designs at high velocity without compromising on craft. You sweat the typography, micro-interactions, and visual polish—instinctively closing the gap when a screen is 10% away from being right.
- Systems thinking. You excel at solving complex, interconnected problems. You don't just design isolated screens; you intuitively map out how workflows, data states, and user actions interact across our entire ecosystem.
